Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Gonzalez Collins (born in Mexico) is a Mexican American broadcaster. Her current job is with ESPN as a reporter for SportsCenter and sometimes hosts SportsNation. In 2016, she joined ESPN. She is the daughter of television reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta was bilingual by her age of nine. It is this skill that helped her get her first job as a Univision Production Assistant in Miami. There, she was a producer for national shows such as Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. Following this it was announced that she was hired by the CBS affiliate in St. Petersburg employed her as a sports reporter. In 2009, the news reporter relocated from St. Petersburg to Rio Grande Valley Texas where she was employed by KNVO TV 48 Univision as and Fox2 News. In reporting on news stories about the trafficking of drugs and immigration on both sides the Texas-Mexico border, she was reporter for news on KNVO TV 48, the Spanish channel KNVO TV48 at 5pm, then as a reporter for news on English at 9 pm and then a news anchor for 10pm before returning to the Spanish channel. Also, she was a substitute for weather anchors, sports anchors and forecasters. Deportes 23 in Dallas, Univision's Dallas-affiliate station. In that station, she was given greater accountability. She was a reporter for events like the Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS World Series and Dallas Cowboys, NBA postseason, Finals FC Dallas as well the Dallas Stars. The Univision 23 channel also produced her local sports channel Accion Deportiva Extra, on where she was anchor. She worked as anchor for the sports segment of Despierta America Deportes morning show. As a sports anchor, she worked for Primer Impacto (a network magazine) as well as Contacto Deportivo (a UniMas Network sports show). Antonietta Collins was born and raised in Veracruz Mexico. They moved at some point in Mexico City, where Antonietta Collins was born in November 1985. Also, she has an older sister. She is the older sister. Within a brief time her father split from her mother. She later remarried in the year 1995 to a naval architect called Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo passed away from kidney cancer in the year 2006. In the summer of the year 2006, Antonietta took a week with her sister in Canton Ohio. The older Collins girl was working there. Antonietta was just graduating from high school but already knew her plans for what she would do. Then she fell in love with the campus. And they offered her major. She graduated from high school and enrolled into media school at the university. Mark Bergmann was her professor and also the head of WRMU, of which she is a member. They had a very close friendship. Mark Bergmann was the person who instilled her confidence, and his passion in Journalism touched her deeply. As a result, she was determined to exceed his expectations always delivering on time.
